Greater Noida: Like every year, preparations for the ongoing Chhath Puja are in full swing in the public pond behind Cherry County, Techzone 4, Greater Noida by Purvanchal and Pravasi Ekta Manch. About 200 Chhath Vraeei and their families from different societies will be part of the event.

Preparations for Chhath in full swing 

In a talk with CitySpidey, devotees shared that every river is polluted. Pictures of Vratis between poisonous foam in Yamuna river have gone viral. Thus, they started to make their pond as it was a healthier alternative. They shared that these ponds will be helpful for the murti visarjan also and make the environment clean.

Yesterday, a meeting was held with ACP Shri Yogendra Singh, SHO Anita  Chauhan in this context and it was decided in the meeting that Chhath  Puja would be celebrated within the COVID protocol. From the point of view of security, the police force will also be stationed at the ghat of Chhath Puja.

Member of Purvanchal and Pravasi Ekta Manch said, “We thank all the officers of the administration and authority, as well as all the Purvanchal residents who are making every effort at the ground level.”

Abhishek Kumar, NEFOWA President said, “The work of cleaning, repair and painting of the ghat has been completed. Arrangements are being made to fill water in the ghat. All the members of Purvanchal and  Pravasi Ekta Manch are engaged in making this festival beautiful. The  people of Greater Noida Authority are also busy helping us in every way.”

NK Singh, a resident of Greater Noida West and a member of NEFOWA  said, “On 10th November, Wednesday, by offering evening Arghya to the setting sun and in the morning of 11th November. Residents from different societies took part in the cleanliness of the pond. We are trying our best to make this puja successful by following proper Covid  guidelines.”
