Noida: A regular morning walk turned into a nightmarish experience for Anindya Lala, 57, a resident of Mahagun Manor, Sector 50.
On the morning of November 29, Lala was on his way back home at around 7.30. He was just about 500 m away from his home, walking on the side of the main road when he was mugged at gunpoint by two miscreants on a bike. The incident took place near Stellar King Court society, Sector 50.
He shared the entire episode with City Spidey. “Every morning I take my dog for a walk and I walk on the main road. I go early in the morning and come back around 7:30 am. On my way back home I noticed two individuals asking me to stop while shouting ‘Bhai Sahab …bhaisaheb’. I stopped and saw the pillion rider walk up to me. He then shook hands with me. He asked me if I wanted to get rid of someone then they can do that job for me. I just replied that you are talking to the wrong person and tried to move on. It is at this point that they flashed a gun at me. They asked me to take off my three gold rings. They also checked if I had a gold chain on me or if I was carrying a phone. Not finding any of these things they sped off.”
After the incident, Lala informed Rajiva Singh, a resident of Stellar King Court society. Singh called the cops and informed them about the incident.
Lala pointed that at the time of the incident a police van which is usually parked near the locality was missing.
After this incident, a circular was released by the AOA of Stellar King Court society, asking the residents to be careful while venturing out in view of the reported incident.
City Spidey tried to connect the police officials but they were not available for comment.
