Noida Authority to involve residents in its 'Swachh City' campaign

Noida: The Noida Authority has started an initiative for the residents of Noida with an aim to make a better and cleaner city.  Under the scheme titled, ‘Swachh City’ the authority has asked RWAs and AoAs to come up with jingles, short films, and wall paintings that highlight the theme of a cleaner city. The authority plans to award the top contributors to this initiative.

The Noida Authority will hold a contest, Swachh Innovative Technology Challenge (SITC) for the residents of Noida and invite NGOs, residents and groups with innovative ideas to manage waste. This move follows a similar initiative by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) which held an internal competition among the bulk waste generators last week with the prize of 2 lakh rupees.

Rajesh Sahay (56), General Secretary NOFAA and a resident of Shubhkamna Apartment, Sector 50, Noida says, “Apartment residents are showing interest and have started enquiring about the campaign. The prizes announced are very encouraging. These contests will definitely motivate the residents of Gautam Buddha Nagar to come forward and encourage their AOAs & RWAs to win prizes. The benefits of Green Noida, Clean Noida will once again be highlighted in the minds of residents. It shows the participation of residents is very important for the success of the Swachhata Mission.”

Rakhi Sinha (45), Social Media Advisor of Arun Vihar RWA says, “The Swachh Contest series is actually a milestone of sorts in citizens’ participation in city makeover. Creativity connects communities while developing a sense of 'responsible' ownership for them. Noida can be a benchmark in Swachh Bharat Mission with its multi-mode cultural and technological solutions.”

Devendra Singh (38), General Secretary, Express Zenith AOA says, “We came to know that Noida Authority is inviting Noida’s RWAs/AOAs to share their talents in this ‘’Swachh Noida Abhiyan'. We as a responsible society, really appreciate such kinds of activities on regular basis to increase awareness about cleanliness. We would definitely participate in this program because of its resemblance with our AOA tagline 'clean society green society' where our mission is to maintain 100% cleanliness and greenery in our surroundings.”

Sanjeev Sharma(46), General Secretary RWA Sector 51, "It is a good initiative by the Noida Authority and its another step for the betterment of Noida. I believe the citizens of Noida would also want to participate in this contest. This initiative will make Noida more beautiful."
