GreNo West- Crematorium to be built on the banks of Hindon

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Authority has decided to build a crematorium on the banks of the Hindon river in Greater Noida West. It will be built in association with FNP Care's NGO 'Last Journey'. On Friday, December 10, 2021, the 'Last Journey Sanstha' gave a presentation on this to Narendra Bhushan, CEO of Greater Noida Authority. The CEO has given his in-principle approval for the project.

Residents shared that for the last rites of their loved ones, they have to go to Safipur Mokshadham in Greater Noida. The area residents have been demanding a crematorium for a long time. In response, the CEO Narendra Bhushan had instructed the Planning and Project Department to fix a place for a crematorium in Greater Noida West. The department has proposed to build it on the banks of the Hindon river.

The Last Journey organization is planning to make this crematorium on a Build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The authority will lease the required land to the organization for 10-11 years, which will build, operate and maintain the crematorium. In this crematorium, arrangements will be made for the last rites by all three methods- wood, CNG, and electric. The facility of a corpse vehicle and freezer will also be provided for the public. There will also be an air-conditioned common hall for prayer meetings for the bereaved family. A memorial park will also be built in this, where people will be able to plant saplings in the memory of their loved ones. A waiting room will also be built as part of the plan. CEO Narendra Bhushan has asked for a formal proposal soon. The joint team of Authority and Last Journey Organization will soon inspect the spot and following which the blueprints of the plan would be drawn.
