La Residentia: Residents fume over water crisis

Greater Noida: People lining up in front of the water tank, braving the winter morning cold with buckets in hand. The water crisis in La Residentia, Techzone 4, GreNo is continuing. Furious over the ordeal of living without water for the last three days, the residents have been forced to come out of their homes and voice their protest.  Since 6:00 am on Sunday morning, December 12, there is no supply of drinking water in the society. The problem started when the overflowing of water in the underground water tank caused a fault in the electric motor used to pump water to the overhead tank.

The Greater Noida Authority has responded to the present water crisis by arranging water tankers for the residents. However, the residents are not impressed. No surprise then that the residents have resorted to carrying a protest until the water supply is restored. Sumil Jalota (42), a resident of the society says " “The maintenance team did not tell us what’s going on. The residents are angry to such an extent that they even sent a water tank back which was arranged by the Authority as they demanded the restoration of water supply to their homes. We will protest till the water until the issue is not resolved. In the afternoon of December 14, 2021 the residents have filed an FIR against the society builder."
