The threat of Covid has again taken over our lives and this time, we better be prepared. A few things need to be ticked in our checklist like vaccination, social distancing, masks and sanitizers and of course, healthy food. It is really important to build good immunity to get through this new wave of Covid and a right diet can take you a long way in that direction. 

Here are a few items you must add in your diet to boost your immunity-

Turmeric:

Turmeric is one of the ancient spices used to cure external and internal wounds but it also improves your immunity. While turmeric is very common in Indian cooking, it is also present in some medicines. Curcumin, a compound present in turmeric, can reduce inflammation and improve your immune response.

Spinach:

This green leafy vegetable is full of nutrients and antioxidants like flavonoids, carotenoids, vitamin E and C. Experts say these vitamins support the immune system and flavonoids help fight the common cold.

Red bell paper:

Red bell peppers come packed with vitamin C and are a good alternative to sugar. According to the research on cooking  methods, this vegetable should be stir fried or roasted instead of steaming or boiling to preserve its nutrients.

A handful of almonds also protects you from infectious diseases. It is rich in vitamin E, fibre and magnesium.

Salmon fish is rich in Omega 3 which is proven to secure your immunity system if taken regularly. Omega 3 also helps in reducing inflammation and are a good source of antioxidants and vitamin D.
