Supertech twin tower to be demolished by May 22

Noida: The work for the demolition of the 40-storey building, Supertech's twin tower is in progress. The process for setting up machines and workers at the site will start on February 20, 2022. The twin towers are expected to be demolished by May 22, 2022 and the debris will be cleared by Supertech and Edphis Engineer by August 22. All NOCs have been issued by various departments as informed by Noida Authority. 

The Supreme Court, on February 7, 2022, ordered the Noida Authority to hold a meeting with the AOA officials of Supertech Emerald, concerned departments, Edifice Engineering, builder of Emerald Court & ATS Society on the subject of tower demolition in 72 hours. Ritu Maheshwari, CEO, Noida Authority, held a meeting on February 10, 2022, to get a progress report on the demolition of this project. Officials of Paschimchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Fire Department, District Administration, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization were present in this. In the meeting, many decisions were taken, which were conveyed to the concerned departments.

For the demolition, Edifice will provide the blast design and vibration analysis to GAIL by February 25, 2022. After GAIL examines the design, necessary guidelines will be given to Edifice by March 25, 2022. The preliminary impact analysis was made available to GAIL today, i.e., February 10, 2022, itself, after which, GAIL has issued a conditional NOC.

Permission has been obtained from the GB Nagar Police for the purchase, storage and transportation of explosive material under the Explosives Act. The NOC related to this will be issued by the Noida Police within seven days, which will be kept confidential.

The necessary permissions and NOCs from concerned departments and institutes like Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Fire Department, District Administration, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization, GB Nagar Traffic police, Emerald Court Honors Resident Welfare Association, ATS Villag Apartment Honors Association have been obtained.

Gas Authority of India Limited's pipeline is three meters below the building. It was ensured by Edifice Engineering that during the demolition, there will be no adverse impact on the gas pipelines. However, the supply of gas and electricity will remain shut during the blast.

Before the demolition of the twin towers, buildings within a radius of 50 meters will be evacuated. The rising dust will be suppressed by splashes of water.
