The world woke up to shocking news on February 24, 2022 as Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a 'military operation' in Ukraine after months of unrest. Soon after, reports of airstrikes and explosions in the country emerged.

Amidst all this chaos, one thing is for sure, Ukraine, which otherwise is a beautiful country will now be a dumpyard of fallen buildings and injured citizens. Ukraine, because of its unique beauty and culture, is considered an attractive destination for filming. The beautiful country has not escaped the keen eye of the Indian filmmakers. It is no surprise then that a few Indian filmmakers have used Ukraine as their muse. Here is a list of some such films.

Tiger 3

Salman Khan’s upcoming and one of the most anticipated projects, ‘Tiger 3’ has been shot in Ukraine. Though the film will be full of action and thrill, it will be interesting to see how Ukraine backdrops works for it. The film also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role along with Salman.

RRR

South’s film ‘RRR’ directed by SS Rajamouli is in discussion these days. Made primarily in Telugu, the film is going to release in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. A part of ‘RRR’ was shot in Ukraine. The film stars Ramcharan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The film is set to release in theatres on March 25.

The Winner is said to be the first Indian film to be shot in Ukraine. While a lot of serene locations in Ukraine were a part of the film, three songs were also shot in Istanbul, Lviv and Kyiv.
