Greater Noida West: Residents demand better facilities

Greater Noida West: The residents of Greater Noida West have been raising the lack of facilities for the past two years. They say that Greater Noida West lacks facilities such as a bus stand, underpass, Ramleela ground, and government hospital among others. They allege that despite new housing projects coming up in the area, the city lacks infrastructure.

Vikas Katiyar, Vice Presidents of NEFOWA shared a tweet, “#ग्रेनो_वेस्ट के साथ सौतेला व्यवहार क्यूं?? @OfficialGNIDA से पिछले 3 सालो से की जा रही मूलभूत सुविधाओं की अनदेखी क्यू? @nbhooshan सर कृपया ग्रेनो वेस्ट के निवासियों की परेशानी को समझे। इतनी तपती धूप में क्या यहां पर बस स्टैंड की माग गलत है क्या ये सब मूलभूत सुविधाएं जरूरी नहीं??”

Residents of Greater Noida West have been requesting to build a multispeciality government hospital for some time. They also say that the area must have government schools and colleges.

NEFOWA has constantly raised the demand for building a government multispeciality hospital with the Authority. Manish Kumar, Senior Vice President NEFOWA says, “In the name of government hospital Greater Noida West has only SHC health centre. The population of the Greater Noida West is in lakhs. There is a need for a multispeciality government hospital. Plus, there should be a Kendra Vidyalaya school in the area. Not everyone can afford Private schools."

Residents raise the issue of inadequate road infrastructure. Residents raise the need for an underpass at the Charmuti roundabout, foot-over bridges, better street lights and covering of open drains along streets.

Gaurav Patel, a resident of SRSG says, “We have been struggling to get basic facilities such as public transport, a government school and colleges, bus stands. Greater Noida West has only one fire station when they should be two given the vast area. Residents need drinking water spots in the area. All the sodium street lights should be converted into LED lights.”

Residents also demand bus and taxi stands in the area. Vikas Katiyar, Vice president of NEFOWA says, "There are no public transport facilities in the entire area. Greater Noida West needs bus stands and taxi stands. Metro certainly remains a distant dream for the residents of Greater Noida West.”

Sameer Bharadwaj, a resident of Ecovillage 1 says, “There is no bus stand in Greater Noida West which is very shameful. The weather has become extremely hot and still, there is no drinking water facility for the commuters."

Moreover, they demand the installation of CCTV cameras in societies. Mahaveer Thusoo, a resident of Gaur City 14th Avenue says, “We have been struggling to get basic facilities in societies and the city as well."
