Dwarka: On the night of May 1, 2022, two cars caught fire at Chitrakoot Apartments, Sector 22, Dwarka. As informed by the president of the society, PC Chowdhary, the incident happened at around 12pm. No certain cause of the fire has been identified yet.

He says, “A car came from outside at around 12 pm and parked in outer parking of the society in open space. As soon as it was parked, flames of fire started coming out of it. It caught fire in no time, perhaps due to the atmospheric temperature and heat of the engine. Soon, the car near it caught fire as well. We called the fire brigade and it took around half an hour for it to reach.”

As per the information gathered, there was no casualty other than the two cars. The incident has been a topic of discussion in several social media groups of residents in Dwarka. The residents are confused about what induced the fire. Some residents are speculating that the incident happened owing to a tandoor that was kept in the parking lot. This absolutely a fake narrative of the incident. Am a resident of chitrakoot and was one of the first to land up, immediately called fire brigade who came 30 mts late. before that DP was present. The coal was all over the place both these cars were parked & both cars belonged to residents of C Block. After a function, the workers dumped the coal around the car parking space and vanished.
