The role of teachers (Gurus) in our life

Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu
Gurur Devo Maheshwarah
Gurur Saakshaat Parbrahma
Tasmai Shri Guruve Namah.

Our Mythological verses say, 'Guru hi Gyan ka srot hai'. (A teacher is the source of knowledge). Among all other professions, a teachers' is very crucial. A Guru (teacher) is the one who shapes the mind and soul of a child. He or she helps a child learn good habits, differentiate between right and wrong, seek knowledge, and much more.

On the blessed occasion of Guru Purnima, here is a poem written as a tribute to teachers all around the world-

CitySpidey talked to some residents across Delhi NCR to know about the relevance of gurus in their life.

Sanjeev Kumar, General Secretary of sector-51 Noida says, "Three gurus are very important in everyone's life: parents, teachers and spiritual gurus. My father has been my biggest teacher in life. He dedicated 40 years of his life to various NGOs, Social Organizations, RWAs, and Federations. He taught me the right ways to live in society and inspired me to work for society. Now, I have been associated with social work for the last 14 years."

Priyanka Singh, Associate Director of The crayons school, sector 45 Noida, says, "Teachers are the second mother who teach us life lessons apart from academics. I chose this profession because I wanted to shape young minds and prepare them for the future."

Abhishek Singh, a teacher from The Boffo school, Sector-117, says, "My teachers taught me something that I have remembered- it was to never lose a chance to help someone. In India, we follow an education system that teaches students to be job seekers. I want them to be driven toward innovation and leadership. That is why I became a teacher."
