Dwarka Forum holds meeting with Chief Engineer, DDA

With rains on the cards, the residents of Dwarka met with the Chief Engineer (Projects), DDA to press on him about the need for a better system to deal with rainwater. The residents also asked DDA to focus on improving the green space in Dwarka.

Dwarka Forum (DF), an association of residents, RWAs/ CGHS representatives of Dwarka, held a meeting with AK Agarwal, Chief Engineer CE (Projects), Delhi Development Authority on July 15, 2022, at DDA Office, Mangla Puri, Palam. During the meeting, DF handed over a letter to CE on some ongoing projects and other suggestions. Moreover, they discussed the current status of development and rejuvenation of two trunk drains that is, TD-2 and TD-5 for stormwater discharge of Dwarka, New Delhi.

CE Agarwal informed DF that the work on the projects has already commenced. This project involves the rejuvenation of trunk drains by way of sewerage interception and treatment. It also involves area development of adjoining open and green buffer that will provide a clean and green environment, where residents can go for walking and jogging. It will also have facilities like a children's park, cycle track, open-air food courts, yoga pavilion and exhibition plaza etc. Moreover, CE(P) also briefed that the construction of the Airport drain would also start hopefully soon.
