Cherry County- Senior citizens organize ‘TirangaYatra’ ahead of Independence day

GreNo West: The auspicious occasion of the 75th year of Independence of India is likely to be a grand event. Kickstarting the celebrations in GreNo West, the senior citizens of Cherry County organized a Tiranga Yatra on August 10, 2022, on society premises. Nearly 100 residents participated in the yatra with great enthusiasm.

The procession started at 7:30 am. During the yatra, residents completed one round of each Cherry's inner and outer circles. All residents chanted the slogans such as Bharat Mata ki Jay and Vande Mataram. Tri colour flags, stoles and badges were distributed to all participants.

Sunil Sachdev (64), retired as a Director from Banglore School of Business and resident of Cherry county says, “ We are enjoying our second innings here by celebrating the proud Amrit Mahotsav. We all sang songs, we gifted everyone flags and badges. We took 2 rounds of the whole society. It was the best day.”

Hariom Dhingra (61), retired as Chief Manager from PNB bank, and resident of Cherry County says, "Everyone was happy and felt very patriotic. We chanted Vande Matram and sang patriotic songs. Even the security guards and daily helpers joined us."

Kailash Chandra Sharma (69), retired from the Ministry of Defence and resident of Cherry County says, “Today our hearts are filled with happiness and love for the country. We took a round all over the society. The josh was very high with slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai."

I.D Agarwal (63), retired SDO, Power Department, Haryana says, “Youth needs to know the value of the National flag and appreciate this day. For this, we celebrated the Tiranga yatra in our society where people of all age groups participated actively.”
