Bhagirat Palace fire over after 4 days, 200 shops destroyed

The massive fire at Chandni Chowk's Bhagirat palace was brought under control on Sunday morning after a 4-day long cooling operation to douse the smoke. As gathered, nearly 200 shops were damaged in the incident. Moreover, business owners report damage of nearly 500 crores in the fire.

The fire at Bhagirat palace took place on Wednesday night, November 24, 2022. Around 150 firefighters were brought in to extinguish the fire and it took nearly 12 hours to put it out. The congested lanes of Chandni Chowk made it hard for Delhi Fire services to reach the spot. By the time they reached, the fire had reached the inner shops and the godown of the Bhagirat palace. A major of the Bhagirat palace was destroyed. Flames also reached the nearby buildings resulting in their downfall.
