Noida: To bring soldiers and civilians together on a common platform to inspire the local youth, Noida Shaheed Smarak Sanstha will celebrate the 21st Vijay Diwas on Wednesday (21 December). The ceremony will be organized in keeping with the traditions of the Armed Forces.

Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sandeep Singh will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. He will release the ‘Glimpses of Events’ - docket of Smarak. The chief guest and his wife, Mrs Kamini Singh will be received by Mrs Suman Bakshi and Lt Gen GL Bakshi, chairman of Sanstha and Lt Gen S K Singh, executive director of Sanstha.

The main purpose of the function is to bring the soldier and the civilian together on a common platform to inspire the local youth, which the common man can never entirely visualize. The ceremony is carried out with military precision and in a solemn and dignified manner, in keeping with the traditions of the Armed Forces.

The chief guest will lay the wreath followed by Lt General Dhiraj Seth, GOC Delhi Area; and Rear Admiral Nirbhay Bapna, ACNS (Foreign Cooperation) on behalf of Army and Navy respectively.

Thereafter, the families of 39 martyrs, the chairman, Ms Tarini Rawat, civil and military dignitaries, IAS and IPS officers, heads of Arun Vihar and Jalvayu Vihar institutions, defence personnel, veterans, Mrs Jyoti Rana, Principal, APS and Mrs Nandita Sinha Roy, Principal, Cambridge School; and common citizens will also pay their homage.

Tri services Guard and buglers will be in attendance. Thereafter, the Chairman will deliver a welcome address and the Vice Chief of Air Staff will release ‘Glimpses of Events’ followed by address to the distinguished gathering.

The chief guest and reps of Army and Navy will sign the visitor’s book and Mrs. Kamini Singh, Mrs. Komal, wife of Lt Gen Seth and Mrs. Diva Bapat, wife of Rear Admiral Bapat will share their views and present gifts to NOKs (next of kins) of martyrs.
