Rain drenched capital: Relief from heat in several parts of Delhi-NCR

Delhi-NCR received light rain on Wednesday. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain brought down the city's maximum temperature to 28 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature settled at 20.2 degrees Celsius. Weather experts predicted that another spell might start from Friday.

The temperature significantly reduced because of the sudden change in weather. It was a great relief from the rapidly increasing heat. As per the weather forecast, another western disturbance might affect northwest India starting from May 5th. Under its influence, both cloudy sky and rain were predicted in the capital till 7th May, an IMD official said.

The mercury came down, and waterlogged streets and traffic snarls were reported from several areas all over Delhi. While some people were seen taking their umbrellas out on the roads, others enjoyed the views from their windows. Street vendors took shelter under plastic sheets. People at metro stations and bus stands were seen waiting for the shower to stop. The changed weather provoked people for some piping hot tea and pakoras.
