The police has arrested 13 and registered criminal cases against 500 unidentified people in the mob violence case in Mahagun Moderne, a residential society in Sector 78, Noida, on Wednesday morning.
According to the CCTV footage scanned by Noida Police, Zohra Bibi, the maid, had come out of the society at 6 am and re-entered the society after about two hours, along with another domestic help working in the society. After her entry, the mob gathered outside the society and violence erupted.
AK Singh, SP City, said the maid has been admitted to a hospital and is under police custody. “She had claimed injury after the police nabbed her from society parking lot," said Singh. "She had undergone a medical examination but no injury marks were found on her body.”
Zohra Bibi, who was working as a domestic help, has lodged an FIR against her employer Harshu Sethi under sections 147, 323 and 342. On the other hand, Sethi's wife, Mitul Sethi, has registered an FIR against Zohra’s husband and 300 unidentified maids and their relatives. The case has been registered under sections 147, 148, 336, 307, 427 and 452 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Pradeep Sharma, in charge of the on-duty private security guards in the society, has lodged a police complaint against the unidentified mob under sections 147, 148, 427, 506, 452 and 336 of IPC. On behalf of the society’s residents, advocate Rahul Sahay, who is also a resident of the society, registered an FIR against Zohra Bibi, her husband and 500 unidentified people. The FIR has been registered under sections 147, 148, 323, 452, 336, and 427 of the IPC.
Police are now investigating the different versions recorded by the maid and her employers. They are also looking at the versions of the security staff and other residents of the society to reach a conclusion, so a charge sheet of the case can be prepared.
