The residents are also planning to lodge an FIR against the builder for shoddy maintenance services provided at the society.
Residents of Skytech Matrott launch an indefinite protest
Residents of Skytech Matrott, a residential society in Sector 76, have launched an indefinite protest against the malpractices of the builder.
The builder, they alleged, often deducted common area maintenance (CAM) charges from their prepaid electricity meters, which is against UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) norms. The Supreme Court, too, had banned such a practise.
Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Skytech Matrott, told City Spidey, “Residents are paying Rs 2.25 per sq ft as maintenance charges, but the builder provides us the lowest quality of services. Lifts are poorly maintained and they frequently malfunction. The lifts don’t have even CCTV cameras or intercom facilities, compounding the risks. There are only eight guards for the 3,000 residents in the society.”
He added, “Basic amenities such parking and firefighting system have not been provided either. For some flats, even the registry has not been done.”
In fact, there have been minor incidents too at the society.
On May 28, a portion of the plaster fell off the balcony of a 17th floor flat, damaging the rear portion of hatchback parked below. Again, on July 19, a portion of the plaster from the drawing-room ceiling of a flat came crashing down.
The residents are planning to lodge an FIR against the builder.
