Residents of Gaur City, 1st Avenue elected its first Apartment Owners Association (AOA) of the society on Sunday. Out of 16 residents, who were on fray, 10 members were elected.
There were two groups consisting of eight contestants on each side. Of the 10 elected members, six are from one group while four from another group. Talking to City Spidey, Sapan Rastogi, a resident of the society said the election was held amicably with the support of all the residents and the management.
Formation of the AOA in the society was a need of the hour, as there has been regular conflict on maintenance issue between the residents and the management. The process for forming AOA begun with the formation of five members Election Committee (EC) to setup guidelines for the entire election process.
“First of all the residents unanimously set up EC along with preparing list of authentic flat owners. We also got full cooperation from the builder's side,” Rastogi added.
At present, the management system of the society lies under the builder, however, residents have formed a social group of active residents who keep raising the residents’ voice on every issue.
“Members have been elected but there is a long way to go. There may be some differences in views but we all know that AOA will work for the betterment of the society and the residents,” Rastogi added.
