Noida: Sector 105 residents reel under water crises

Residents of HIG flats, a residential society in Sector 105, Noida, have been facing the issue of water shortage for the last 48 hours which has disrupted lives of over 500 families residing in pocket A and in the Judge colony in Sector 105. The supply disrupted on 1st September and is yet to be restored permanently. To manage the crisis, Water cell of Noida Industrial Development Authority deployed tanker today.

Pradeep Saxena, president of Resident Welfare Association of pocket A, Sector 105, said that though the authority sent water tanker to manage the acute shortage of water but it did not bring water pumping motor due to which the residents staying on second and third floors of the society are in trouble. He said, "Women and children have been fetching water to their homes through the staircase of the society. They are facing a lot of problem due to disruption in water supply lines. It is very difficult for them to carry water from ground floor till their homes on the second or third floor.”

Residents said that they are buying water bottles for drinking but it is a big challenge for them to manage water shortage as all the taps including that of washroom and kitchen are running dry. Saxena said, ''When we went to the authority to discuss the issue, the authority said that we have to wait for the other two days as the work for improving the supply line between Sector 70 and Sector 71 is still in progress.”
