Ghaziabad: The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday appointed 2010-batch IPS officer Kalanidhi Naithani as Senior Superintendent of Police at Ghaziabad. He was transferred from Lucknow.
36-year-old Naithini hails from Pauri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Ghaziabad is his sixth posting after he served as SSP Lucknow. Naithani took charge in Lucknow in July 2018.
Naithani comes from a reputed family. His father, a professor in Garhwal University, has received President's award for excellence in his field. His mother is a principal at a Dehradun college. His elder brother is Lieutenant Colonel in Indian Army and wife is an Income Tax official at Prayagraj.
The impact of his parents is visible in his education history. Naithani has done B.E. in communication and technology stream. He has also done MBA in police management.
Prior to his selection in IPS, for a brief period, he had served as research executive in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
