Noida Authority gears up to improve rank in Cleanliness Survey

Noida: In an effort to improve its ranking in Cleanliness Survey 2020, the Noida Authority on Sunday carried out cleanliness drive in three residential sectors and local villages.

Residents of sectors such as 43, 80, 81 and 78 joined the drive while it was in progress in the respective sectors.

For smooth conduct of the drive, officials had formed three teams, which were deployed in each sector. They moved to all the corners of the respective sectors to pick up waste and disseminate information about the benefit of maintaining cleanliness.

Besides cleaning, officials also listened to issues pertaining to civic issues in the respective sector. They noted down these issues and assured residents that they would be resolved shortly.

Brajesh Sharma, a resident of Sector 78, said that they went ahead to participate the cleanliness drive while it was in progress at Gijhor, a local village in Noida.

He said that participants including residents were sensitised regarding adverse effect of usage of plastic bags on environment. Local shop owners were also asked to refrain from using plastic bags while selling goods to customers.

He said, “The drive was an important one as participants from different residential sectors and also from other cities like Ghaziabad and Greater Noida had come forward for contributing to cleanliness of the city. It is a good thing that people are gradually getting educated about the benefits of maintaining cleanliness.”
