Delhi on Friday reported 22 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,946.

New Delhi: For the fourth consecutive day, Delhi reported more than 3,000 new coronavirus cases on Friday. 3,428 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 3,24,459. The number of new cases reported came out of 58,145 tests conducted on the previous day.

Delhi recorded 3,483 new cases on Thursday, 3,324 on Wednesday, 3,036 on Tuesday, 1,849 on Monday, 2,780 on Sunday and 2,866 on Saturday.

58,145 tests were conducted, of which 15,560 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 42,485 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate declined to 5.90 per cent from 6.23 per cent on the previous day. The cumulative positivity rate was 8.35 per cent.

Delhi on Friday reported 22 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,946. 26 deaths were reported on Thursday, 44 on Wednesday, 45 on Tuesday, 40 on Monday, 29 on Sunday, 48 on Saturday and 38 on Friday.

On the other hand, 3,197 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 2,95,699 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly declined to 91.13 per cent from 91.11 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Friday. It affected the active cases count negatively. Active cases increased by 209 in the city. Delhi has now 22,814 active cases. The number of people in home isolation is 13,152. Out of the total number of 15,759 beds in Covid hospitals, 10,715 are vacant.
