Metro Apartments: Hassled residents demand action against dust pollution

Noida: Residents of Metro Apartment, a residential society in Sector 71, Noida, on Saturday demanded action for controlling dust pollution in their residential pockets.

They complained that moving vehicles passing through service lanes on both sides of the main road are causing huge dust pollution, forcing them to seek immediate solution to the problem.

Subhash Chauhan, President of the RWA said that he has written to the federation of RWA to draw its attention towards the problem. He also sought help from the federation in taking the issue with concerned officers for getting it solved.

He said, “As the development of an underpass is in progress at sector 71 juncture, the traffic movement has been diverted through service lanes. The surface of the lanes is in a broken state and it causes huge dust when speeding vehicles pass through it.”

Pradeep Mishra, General secretary of the RWA said that the problem has increased during the pandemic. He said, “The residents have been taking enough precautions to stay safe during the ongoing pandemic. The dust pollution is creating more problems for them. It is causing breathing problems for them.”

Mishra said that Noida Authority should step up with measures to control it as it is also causing pollution in the air. He said, “Water tankers should be deployed to sprinkle over the dust emanating from service lanes on both sides of the main road. If initiated, it is going to be a big relief for all in the society.”
