Delhi on Saturday reported 35 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,981.

New Delhi: For the fifth consecutive day, Delhi reported more than 3,000 new coronavirus cases on Saturday. 3,259 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 3,27,718. The number of new cases reported came out of 55,715 tests conducted on the previous day.

Delhi recorded 3,428 new cases on Friday, 3,483 on Thursday, 3,324 on Wednesday, 3,036 on Tuesday, 1,849 on Monday and 2,780 on Sunday.

55,715 tests were conducted, of which 15,537 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 40,178 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate slightly declined to 5.85 per cent from 5.90 per cent on the previous day. 

Delhi on Saturday reported 35 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 5,981. 22 deaths were reported on Friday, 26 on Thursday, 44 on Wednesday, 45 on Tuesday, 40 on Monday, 29 on Sunday and 48 on Saturday.

3,154 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 2,98,853 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly increased to 91.19 per cent from 91.13 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries on Saturday. It affected the active cases count negatively. Active cases increased by 70 in the city. Delhi has now 22,884 active cases. The number of people in home isolation is 13,436. Out of the total number of 15,706 beds in Covid hospitals, 10,678 are vacant.
