Residents shared that the builder is inactive because of the authority, as they are very slow in action. They said that they have been protesting against the builder for seventeen consecutive weeks but neither authority nor the builder has listened to them. Construction has been pending for the last 11 years. Residents shared snakes are spotted every day in the parking area or in the park due to the dumping of garbage and construction waste
The residents said that they had also filed a complaint to Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) in which they mentioned the issue of dumping of garbage/construction and demolition waste inside the society. They said that the complaint is unresolved to date. As per them, the life of 70 families is in danger. Society has 12 towers, residents are residing in towers A, B, C, and D on sublease.
Prateet Baijal, a resident of the society said, “The society has a bad internal road. Giving into the pressure, builder had started construction of the backside road, but he did not use good quality raw material. We are afraid that the road will be damaged soon.”
Another resident, Ravi Chaudhry said, “the society doesn’t have internal roads and there is no permanent electricity connection. The builder allowed residents possession on an agreement of sublease and is now depriving them of services. There is no Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in society. Improperly treated groundwater is being supplied to us.”
Another resident who wished to remain anonymous said, “Our society is still under construction. Without any OC/CC, the builder allowed residents possession on an agreement of sublease. Residents are protesting for just basic amenities.”
