Panchsheel Hynish: Lack of maintenance services troubles residents

Greater Noida: Residents of Panchsheel Hynish, a highrise residential society in Sector 1, Greater Noida West, have been facing the issue of garbage dumping in the basement of the society for several months now.

Tower 3 has two lifts, out of which, one is not working for the last three years. Residents are complaining that the malfunctioning of lifts makes it tough for domestic help to come. Residents shared that buttons of the lift tend to malfunction very often.

As per residents, the garbage is being dumped in the society's basement, which otherwise is used as a car park too by the residents. The residents are also facing the issue of seepage and lack of other maintenance services.

Earlier, on October 21, 2021, the maintenance workers of the society, employed by the builder had gone on a one-day strike because they were not paid on time. Residents alleged that last year, the builder hiked the maintenance charges from  Rs 1.96 per sqft to Rs 2.16 per sqft without consulting them. Seepage from the pillars is very common. Plaster falling in the flats and at reception is a major safety issue in society.

The society has 12 towers and houses around 1000 residents.

A resident, on the condition of anonymity, says, “Sanitation in society is one of our major concerns. The garbage is being dumped in the basement entry. Waterlogging is also common during rains in the basement and it makes it difficult to stay there even for a minute.”

A resident from Tower 3, Panchali Shyam Dev says, “We are facing a lot of issues in the society. The lifts of our tower are not working. My husband is a cardiac patient, my 9-year-old children, both have to use stairs. Who will be responsible in case of any emergency?"
