Noida: 7x Residents demand naming intersection after CDS Bipin Rawat

Noida: The 7x Welfare team has written a letter to the Noida Authority requesting to name the Sector 74/75/76/77 intersection/route after the name of Late CDS Bipin Rawat. The letter mentions, “In history, there have been many great warriors, scholars, freedom fighters, scientists, doctors, journalists, engineers, administrative officers, leaders, workers who have been lost in oblivion, if they also get a place in the naming of roads, then people and children also know about them. People will be interested to know about such people. This campaign should be started by equipping the intersection/road of Sector 74/75/76/77 in the name of our country's first CDS Bipin Rawat.”

Dr. Pranab J Patar, a resident of Lotus Panache, says, “India has been in the forefront of naming its roads and alleys after great people. Several roads in Noida are yet to be named, this is an opportune moment for all of us to start naming and remaining lanes of Noida after national and local heroes, who left behind an unparalleled legacy through their contribution towards the upliftment of our society/environment. By naming the said 7X juncture after India’s first CDS Bipin Rawat, we can offer our humble respect to this national hero and remember his contribution to the nation”.

Shreya Sharma, a member of the 7x welfare team, says, "General Bipin Rawat had served our country well and the least we can do is to pay homage to him. It would be great if the road is named after him and we are putting our efforts to make that happen.”

Giriraj Bahediya, a member of the 7x welfare team, says, “We usually see people asking for the addresses. They have the addresses but they don’t have the landmarks. Most of the time, they don’t know the names of the roads. So if we name these roads after the names of great soldiers like CDS Bipin Rawat, it will be a way to pay tribute to them and to make our young generation aware about their services.”

Mukesh Vaish, senior manager, civil department, Noida Authority, says,  “We can’t say much on this as it can only be done if the Noida CEO approves of it”.
