GrenoWest: Heavy vehicles parked in service lanes trouble residents

Greater Noida West: The residents of GreNo West have raised the issue of unauthorised parking of heavy vehicles in the service lanes. Due to this, the roads of GreNo West are allegedly in deplorable conditions and full of dust.

According to residents, every day, there is a long queue of heavy vehicles such bulldozer, mining dumpers, tipper lorry, semi-trailer, trucks and so on parked on the service lanes of the residential areas such as Aartha SEZ, Nirala Estate, Patel Neotown, JM Florence among others. This leaves less space for the vehicles of residents to pass through the service lanes.

“Every day these huge vehicles can be seen parked in the service lanes of GrenoWest. They are parked there from 11 pm to 10 am. In the morning, people have to leave for their office and children have to go to school. As the service roads are full of these heavy vehicles, the residents are forced to go through the main road.”

Vikash Katiyar, Vice president, NEFOWA says, “Whenever we pass through these roads, we feel scared of getting hit by these huge vehicles. Once, my car got hit by a truck parked in these service lanes as there was not enough space, and was damaged. I was luckily saved but I do not want this to happen with anyone else."

He says, "These heavy vehicles come late at night after our shift is over, and still I levy a heavy fine on these vehicles as soon as my duty starts. We even contacted the companies and builders about this issue but even after our continuous efforts, these builders do not understand. This is purely duty of the builder to guide their drivers to park inside the site and not to disturb the citizens.”

He continues, “It is sure that we will take strict action against the builders if things don't improve. In Nirala estate, we took strict action and now, there is no vehicle parked there. If anyone finds trucks parked at service lanes, they can report it immediately on this number- 9971009001. We will take action against the builders.”
