The state of some of the civic amenities at Dwarka's Suryodaya Apartments, Pocket 8, Sector 12, has become a cause for concern for residents of the society.
Surya Pal Singh, president of the RWA, says, “The internal road from Gate No 2 till the other end of the society is in bad shape. After several complaints the corporation repaired one internal road but didn’t repair this one. We want them to repair this road as soon as possible.”
PB Tiwari, secretary of the RWA, says that the walls at the rear side of the society need to be repaired. “The plaster on the walls is falling off. We raised the issue with DDA and SDMC but they haven’t responded,” he adds.
The stormwater drains in the society are damaged and choked too. According to SM Pillai, vice-president of the RWA, the corporation was supposed to clean and repair these but the job is yet to be done.
The dumping of garbage along the boundary wall of the society is another issue that residents want addressed. RS Rahi, joint secretary of the RWA, says, “Cleaning of the area just outside the society is a big concern. One can see how garbage is lying scattered along the boundary wall. We want it cleaned as soon as possible. We have written to the corporation regarding this and are waiting for their response.”
When City Spidey spoke to Shashi Tomar, area councillor, he said, “The formalities related to work on the road have already been completed. We’ve also started repair work on the road. As far as cleaning of the drains and the garbage is concerned, I will direct the officials concerned. The garbage will be cleaned in a couple of days.”
