Noida: There was a complete confusion among residents of Amrapali Zodiac, a highrise in Sector 120, Noida, when they saw an unidentified middle-aged woman roaming freely in their society on Monday evening. They doubted her intentions and a rumour of her being a child-stealer spread in the society.
As homemakers came to know about it, they became worried about the safety of their child. They made phone calls to the city police informing them about the unidentified woman roaming for the past two hours in the society. Then, the police reached the society and started inquiring about herself.
Chandar Pal, in-charge of the Parthala police outpost reached the society. Receiving direction from Phase-3 Station House Officer, he started investigation. He took the woman to her home at Sarfabad, a local village in Noida.
During the inquiry, it came out that she was unwell and had lost the way to her home in the local village. Due to this, she had mistakenly entered into the society and was unable to recall the way to her home.
The doubts were cleared. It helped residents to do away with the worry of child-stealer freely roaming in the society. The police also gave residents tips to deal with such kind of rumour if it happens again in the future.
