New Delhi: In view of the farmers’ 'Delhi Chalo' protest march against the farm laws introduced by the Centre, the Delhi traffic police has issued an advisory for commuters.

The security has been tightened as thousands of Punjab farmers have moved close to the city on Thursday.

Delhi traffic police released a series of tweets asking the commuters to avoid many routes.

“Tikri Border is completely closed for traffic movements by local police. Traffic intending to go towards Haryana is also closed. All motorists are advised to avoid this route in view of the protest by Kishan Sangharsh committee,” tweeted Delhi traffic police.

Delhi traffic police also said that the traffic has been diverted from Mukarba Chowk and GTK road. The commuters were also asked to avoid Dhasa Border and Jharoda Kalan Border.

“Obstruction in traffic in the carriageway from Gurgaon towards Dhaula Kuan due to checking by local police near Dhaula Kuan Police chowki. Kindly avoid the stretch,” Delhi traffic police said in another tweet.
