Noida: Residents demand piece of land for police station in Sec 137

Noida: Residents of different high rises in Sector 137 wrote to Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Industrial Development Authority, demanding allocation of a piece of land for construction of a police station in their residential pockets.

Volunteers 137, which is a group of active citizens residing in different residential societies in the sector stated that it has been demanding a police station in the area for the past four years. But the police station is yet to come as there was no space allotted for the construction.

They said that they also met a senior police officer to discuss the issues arising in development of the police station. The officer pointed out that the piece of land allotted in Sector 142 for building a police station is not suitable. Due to this, the development of the police station is on halt.

Considering above issues, residents of the sector would like to request you (CEO) to consider reallocation of a suitable piece of land for construction of the police station. If allocated, it would help in curbing criminal activities and improving law and order in the areas.

Earlier, residents of the sector met with Tejpal Singh Nagar, MLA of the area and had demanded the same. After listening to residents, Nagar wrote to Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and requested him to pass an instruction to the officer concerned with the development authority for re-allotment of suitable plot for constructing the police station.
