Noida: Within a week’s time, residents' demand for reallocation of a piece of suitable land for development of a police station in Sector 137 has been met as the Noida Industrial Development Authority has agreed to allot a bigger size plot for the same.
According to residents, they have received confirmation from Tejpal Singh Nagar, MLA, who was informed by Praveen Mishra, Additional Chief Executive Officer with the authority that a suitable piece of land would be reallocated shortly for the same. The MLA informed the residents that the confirmation was routed through the office of the state’s chief minister.
The development has come as a big relief for residents as they have been demanding a police station in the sector. But it was not being fulfilled as the piece of land allotted in Sector 152 was not suitable for construction of the police station. Due to this, they were yet to get a police station in the area.
Residents of different high rises in Sector 137 had written to Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Industrial Development Authority, demanding reallocation of a piece of land for construction of a police station in their residential pockets a few days ago.
They had said that when they met with a senior police officer on the issue of opening up a police station, the officer had informed the residents that the plot allotted is not sustainable as the station would require a larger plot for constructing all facilities in the station.
They had also met with Tejpal Singh Nagar, MLA of the area and demanded the same. After listening to residents, Nagar wrote to Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and requested him to pass an instruction to the concerned officer with the development authority for re-allotment of suitable plot for constructing building for police station.
