The 75th Independence Day was celebrated on Sunday at Noida Shaheed Smarak, Sector 29 with national flag and defence forces flags fluttering majestically in the background and adding to the great ambience of the memorial. All Covid-19 precautions were followed throughout the event.
Lt Gen GL Bakshi, Chairman of Sanstha, offered floral tributes to 38 martyrs of Gautam Budh Nagar on the base of the cenotaph. Thereafter, present at the ceremony were Uma Nautiyal, Pooja Singh, Col Chhibber, Col KKK Singh, Vijender and Tripta Thapar, Flt Lt JP Sharma and Dr Sangeeta and other NOKs of martyrs; Jayoti Rana, Principal of Army Public School; Lt Gen SK Singh, CEO of Shaheed Smarak, Lt Gen Surinder Verma, Lt Gen Khurana, Brigs Bali, Shashi Vaid, Col IP Singh, Amar Singh, OP Mehta, Sanjay Kharbanda, Vasudev, Venish Rai, Mahinder Singh, and Narender GP Captain Manocha & Commander Narinder Mahajan, members of Executive Committee of Sanstha; Col BK Sood, Rajneesh and citizens of Gautam Buddha Nagar and they paid floral tribute. Neesha Gupta, a 5 years old, stole the show when she paid tribute with the National flag in hand.

Gardeners who maintain beautiful memorials were given sweet packets. While speaking to media, Cdr Narinder Mahajan informed that Annual Wreath Laying Function will be on February 17, 2022. General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff will be the chief guest and will release Souvenir 2022.
