Meet Dhruv Agarwal, the Junior Scientist from Greater Noida

Dhruv Agarwal, a class 10th student of Greater Noida has won many hearts as a young scientist. He has been awarded an internship by Electronics automation company Bharat Photon Innovation Pvt Ltd (BPI).

He has recently created a wireless security system using PIR (Proximity Infrared Red) sensors, which sense any potential intrusion or threat and trigger an alarm, which alerts the monitoring system in time, this security alarm can continuously monitor your premises without hindering your privacy. Dhruv, a resident of Cherry County, has been making electronics models and prototypes since he was just 6 years old. He always helps his friends with science projects and models as for him, it is a hobby.

“My friends call me a junior scientist. They tease me a lot, even more after the internship offer. But they are all very happy for me." says 15-year-old Dhruv.

Speaking about his achievements, he says, “I never expected this. I was simply following my passion. Perhaps it is my parents' encouragement and God's plan for me."

Till now, Dhruv has made many such projects like earthquake detector, contact-less hand sanitiser which can prove to be very helpful during Covid and can help us in maintaining cleanliness. His scientific achievements also include Bluetooth speaker, Soap dispenser, and tesla coil.

While talking about his schedule, Dhruv says, “I study from 5 am to 8 where I cover every subject. This is the perfect time to study and remember my lessons lifetime. This also gives me time for my experiments."

"Even when I had my online classes, I used to watch the videos on science models on youtube and took ideas from those videos and then I searched for those components in my house", he adds.

Dhruv's mother Priyanka Agarwal who is a quality control manager says, "Dhruv had a fascination for aeroplanes and their making. He used to see how they fly and what are the different aspects that help a plane fly. Gradually he started to do R&D on the paper plains and started to learn from youtube."

Dhruv's parents are grateful to Dhruv's teacher and mentor Astha Sharma for his achievements. Dhruv had taken robotic classes from her institution in 2020 where he learnt many technical concepts and achievement badges which motivated him.

Apart from prototyping science, Dhruv has a keen interest in playing Rubik's cube and chess. His current record for solving the Rubik's Cube is 51 seconds, which he aims to reduce to less than 40 seconds very soon. He also enjoys trekking, football, badminton, and cycling.
