Dwarka's horticultural health in focus in resident-DDA meeting

Dwarka: The team of Dwarka Forum met the Deputy Director of Horticulture, DDA, Dwarka, SK Meena on July 20, 2022 to discuss horticulture-related issues in Dwarka. The team of Dwarka Forum handed over a letter to Deputy Director mentioning several issues pertaining to the development and maintenance of parks and water bodies of Dwarka sub-city.

The team also shared the feedback received from residents, particularly about the traffic signals and street light poles covered with overgrown branches of trees.

Dwarka Forum team members emphasised the need for the time-bound program of regular pruning of the branches of trees, especially those which cover the traffic signals and street light poles. They also demanded a timely removal of horticulture waste after pruning and also requested proper numbering of all roadside trees of Dwarka.

In the meeting, Deputy Director said, "The pruning of branches of roadside trees, particularly those covering traffic signals, has already been commenced by DDA. The pruning of branches of trees that covered street light poles will be commenced soon."

The matter of hanging cable wires on roadside trees was also brought to the concern of the Deputy Director. Apart from that, the forum requested for development and maintenance of the central verge of the master plan roads and other roads of Dwarka such as roads No 221, 224, and 226.

The Deputy Director assured the team members to take all the necessary steps to solve the discussed issues.

From the team of Dwarka Forum, A S Chhatwal, General Secretary, P Menon, Treasurer with Executive Members Indu Garg, H M Singh and Kaushal Khanna were present in the meeting.
