Noida, Sec 120: Prateek Laurel elects Team For Change!

Reduction in maintenance charges, ramping up the number of security guards, cleanliness of the society and tree-planting campaigns are top priority in the elected body's to-do list.

Noida, Sec 120: Prateek Laurel elects Team For Change!

Team for Change (TFC), a resident party, on December 11 toppled the ruling party Honest, Transparent and Committed (HTC) in a landslide victory at the Prateek Laurel AOA elections.

The nine winning candidates from TFC are Avaneesh Kumar, Sidharth, Ved Prakash, Niraj Kumar, Uday Kumar Jain, Dinesh Kumar Srivastava, Jaiprakash Agarwal, Prabhat Mani Vats, and Mala Gopal.

"I am glad that residents trusted us," said Atul Thakoor, one of the founding members of TFC. "The situation would have been quite different if the former ruling party had worked for the welfare of residents during their tenure. While they should have been working for the residents, there were instances when they had misbehaved with the women and senior citizens of the society. Why would the residents have voted for them knowing all this?"

Thakoor also accused the rival group of not being transparent with their dealings. Thakoor, who extensively campaigned for TFC, said HTC refused to divulge the society's annual maintenance expenditures despite several requests made to them during their tenure.

"The resident body elected on December 11 is a good mix from varied backgrounds as it comprises senior citizens, youngsters and a woman," said Thakoor. “I believe the elected body will work for the welfare of the society.”

Thakoor said the board will be formed in a day or two, post which, the elected resident body will begin with society-welfare works. "Reduction in maintenance charges, ramping up the number of security guards, cleanliness of the society and tree-planting campaigns are top priority in their to-do list," said Thakoor. "They will be simultaneously focussing on the society's pending works and taking formal hand over from the builder."
