Complete work in time or face strict action: GreNo Authority to contractors

Greater Noida: CEO of Greater Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, on Thursday, warned the contractors to either complete the work on time after getting the tender or face serious consequences. The CEO has clearly stated that the firms that will not meet the deadline will be heavily penalised and in some cases blacklisted.

While reviewing the construction and maintenance works, Maheshwari asked all the work circle in-charges to monitor all the works whose deadlines are complete, yet the work is incomplete.

The general manager was instructed to give adverse entries to the junior engineer and manager and to issue a final warning to the senior manager in case of excessive negligence in works from work circles 3 and 8.

"The works for which tenders have been issued, those tenders should be awarded by May 25 and those for which tenders have not yet been issued, should be issued by May 31. These works will be reviewed again. During that time, strict action will be taken against the work circle whose work was found to be slow. During the review, it also came to light that it is taking more time to finalize the tender process and get approval from the committee. Committee meetings are not held on time,” said Maheshwari.

On this, the CEO directed the GM Project to fix a time for the regular meeting of the committee, so that the files could be approved on time. The CEO has asked the work circle to prepare a timetable for the development work to give six per cent of residential plots to the farmers.

She gave instructions to plant green grass in vacant places along the roads, strongly reprimanded for the delay in the construction of 243 identified ponds, 118 schools, and community centres under Operation Kayakalp in Greater Noida villages, expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work in Phase One of Smart Village and negligence in starting the work in the villages of the second phase.

The CEO also directed to speed up the work of vending zones and playgrounds. Gaur Chowk in Greater Noida West was underpass to solve the traffic problem. Instructed to make the site office in Greater Noida West operational this month.

The CEO has also asked to complete and start the night shelter soon and gave instructions to complete development works in industrial sectors at a fast pace. Along with polishing the roads, she warned of action against the work circle if any kind of advertisement is seen on the walls.

The CEO indicated to visit again after two weeks to take stock of these works. Instructions have been given by the Authority to install boards at all workplaces within a week and to install signage boards, road markings, cat eyes, etc. It is also asked to connect the new bridge being built at Hindon in front of the LG, the existing firm was instructed to blacklist and tender afresh. ACEO Amandeep Dulli, OSD Vishu Raja, and all work circle in-charges were present during the review meeting.
