Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 324 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the district’s cumulative tally to 26,500 on Thursday, according to the district health department.

Also, the death toll rose to 196 as one more person succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said.

As many as 179 patients were treated and discharged during the day, bringing the overall recoveries to 23,736 with a recovery rate of 89.56 per cent, slightly down from 89.99 per cent on the previous day, as per the data.

The number of active cases went up to 2,568 from 2,424 on Wednesday. Of the total active cases, 2,380 patients are in home isolation, it said.

In the last 24 hours, the district health department had taken 3,532 samples for testing, of which, 2,690 were RTPCR tests, while 842 were rapid antigen tests. So far, the district has sent 3,26,214 samples for testing, of them, 2,96,182 were found negative.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 1,128 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,54,495, while the state’s death toll rose to 1,688 as 14 more persons succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

On the brighter side, 1,42,798 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases dropped to 10,009 from 10,187 on the previous day.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 92.43 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 6.31 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.09 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 45 days.
