Water crisis disturbs residents’ lives in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: As the temperature soars, the water crisis has hit many areas of Greater Noida. Moreover, the little water supply available to the residents is of filthy water.

Though the Greater Noida Authority has claimed that it is supplying the Gangajal in the sectors, the water is being supplied only for a couple of hours which is not sufficient. The weak water supply barely makes it to the first floors of the buildings.

Despite several complaints registered by the RWA presidents of the sectors, no solution has been provided.

Also, in other news, residents of Sector 36, Alpha-1, Alpha-2 Gamma-1, Gamma-2 Delta-1, Delta-2, Delta-3 along with Omicron-1, and Omicron-2 are facing trouble for a couple of weeks. After a pump broke down in Sector 36, there has been an irregular water supply in the area.

Sunil Nagar, a resident of Sector 36 of Greater Noida said, "The motor of a pump got burnt and this was not the first such incident, it had happened 10 days back as well."

Ankita Pandey, a resident of Alpha 2 said, "The need for water is not fulfilled. Complaints have been made to the authority officials many times, but no hearing was held."

ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, Amandeep Duli said that the problem of low water pressure exists and work is in progress to restore it.

Aditya Bhati, RWA president of one of the affected sectors in Greater Noida revealed that officials from GNIDA  had earlier stated that there is a need to install new water pumps to fill the overhead tanks, as per the increasing population and consumption requirement.
