NP Singh, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, on March 18 ordered Noida's traffic department to put in extra effort to make the city snarl-free.

Singh, in a meeting with the SP Traffic, city magistrate and the traffic department, asked those present to identify locations that witnessed traffic jams regularly. He also instructed the traffic police to include details of peak-hour traffic, so an action plan could be prepared to ameliorate the congestion at the identified locations.

He also gave specific instructions to decongest traffic at Pari Chowk junction in Greater Noida.

Speaking to City Spidey, the DM said that traffic personnel needed to ensure that locations such as Sector 37, Labour Chowk, Atta Market and Bhangel were free of congestion. "We want to make the city free from traffic snarls," he added.

SP Traffic Prabal Pratap Singh said they had already started work on the DM's order and were in the process of identifying the locations prone to traffic congestion.
