Fire breaks out near Presidium School, I'puram

A minor fire broke out in a room on the premises of Presidium School in Ahinsa Khand I, Indirapuram, around 1.30 pm on March 21.

The room, which was being used as a storeroom, did not suffer any major property loss. Some construction material, such as tiles, were burnt in the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

"We came to know of the fire when we saw smoke coming out from the small storeroom, located behind the school building," said a spokesperson of the school, on condition of anonymity.

"Two fire tenders arrived soon after, but it took just one of them to douse the fire," said AR Sharma, Chief Fire Officer, Vaishali.

Sharma said he suspected a short circuit in the electric connection of the storeroom as the cause of fire.

Thankfully, it was a holiday and none of the students or teachers were on the premises when the incident happened.
